Timeline

Founded in 2002 on the concept of better business communication, Ortery Technologies, Inc. has led the innovation and design of integrated remote capture solutions for the workplace. Through continuous effort in product design and software development, Ortery has risen to become the industry leader in automated still, 360 and 3D product imaging solutions.

Headquartered in PanChiao, Taiwan, Ortery conducts its own engineering, manufacturing and design operations. Ortery also operates a sales and marketing subsidiary located in Irvine, California and has established distribution in over 100 counties worldwide. By committing resources to quality, innovation and photography workflow improvement, Ortery is able to maintain consistent growth and its industry-leading position.

  • 2002 - Ortery USA Established

    After two years of research and development, Ortery USA opened its doors in Irvine, California and launched the Coloreal eBox, the world’s first computer controlled photography studio.

  • 2003 - Photosimile Series Launched

    With the boom of eBay and eCommerce, the need for product photography automation increased. Ortery quickly added two new studios and re-branded the technology under the “Photosimile” name.

  • 2006 - PhotoCapture 360 Turntable Series Launched

    In 2006, Ortery created its first computer-controlled turntable, PhotoCapture 360, for automating image capture from multiple angles and allowing customers to create 360-degree product animations. Thereafter, Ortery quickly filled out the PhotoCapture series to include four turntables with capacities ranging from 1 to 1000 lbs.

  • 2008 - PhotoSimile 5000, Launched

    In 2008, Ortery launched the world’s first 3D photography studio, Photosimile 5000. Launched at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, people crowded the booth to see it automate the capture of professional still, 360, hemispherical and full spherical product views. TruView 360 and 3D were also launched at this time, giving users the ability to stitch and publish interactive 360 and 3D product animations with 6-degrees of freedom, deep zoom, image tagging and more.

  • 2010/2011 - 3D PhotoArm Series sees growth

    Building on the success of Photosimile 5000, Ortery launched the 3D PhotoArm Series for capturing larger, heavier objects in hemispherical or spherical formats.

  • 2012 - 3D PhotoBench Series Breakthrough

    Ortery solves the question – “How to quickly take product shots that have a pure white background?” The patented PhotoBench Series not only made it possible to capture still images on pure white, they made it easy to create 360 and 3D product views on pure white as well. From jewelry to footwear, apparel, sporting goods and beyond, the PhotoBench changed the pace and quality at which product photography can be completed.

  • 2013 - ClothingPads

    At Fashion Digital Los Angeles, Ortery introduced its ClothingPad Series for capturing apparel and fashion accessories in a whole new light. Flat fashion photography has been a leading trend and the ClothingPad Series from Ortery is right there at the cutting edge. These unique solutions allow customers to photograph items on pure white or transparent background. The ability to automatically isolate the product from its background and generate images with transparent backgrounds was introduced across all of Ortery’s products in 2013.

  • 2014 - 3D Modeling

    In 2014, Ortery turned its attention to 3D modeling. Specifically, the ability to create a 3D model from sequences of photographs. Ortery launched several 3D modeling solutions that accelerate 3D model creation through photography automation and seamless background removal. Combined with 3D modeling software, an Ortery solution would allow operators, not 3D modeling professionals, the ability to create 3D models quickly and efficiently.

  • 2015 - New Software Efficiencies & ClothingPad Plus

    In 2015, in addition to launching the ClothingPad Plus kits that allow the ClothingPad units to be used in both horizontal and vertical configurations, Ortery enhanced its background removal technologies and announced several software workflow enhancements.

  • 2016 - New Products...

    Ortery introduces the 2D PhotoBench 100, 3D Rail, n-controller and more. Stay tuned for even more exciting news and developments.
